Before we get started, I wanted to give you a brief agenda about what Iamp;#39;m going to cover, I have a few slides just to give us a little context. But weamp;#39;re going to spend most of the presentation in demonstration. Arbortext has been around since the early 1990s and has a long history with SGML, XML, and DITA. Itamp;#39;s one of the first commercially available SGML editors. People argue over exactly who is first, but thatamp;#39;s not our concern here today. Itamp;#39;s the editor IBM was using when they developed DITA and Ramp;amp;D folks from Arbortext have been part of the OASIS DITA technical committee since its inception. Arbortext is the only out of the box end to end solution since the acquisition by PTC in 2005. Arbortext has been focused on making sure that products are integrated and play nicely with each other. Weamp;#39;ve all heard horror stories from publication groups whoamp;#39;ve had to duct-tape a solution together in order to get the full solution

What is the difference between DITA and XML?

Where DITA is a set of organizing principles, XML is the code doing the organizing. Each bit of content receives a tag, such as heading, ordered list, paragraph, etc. These are assigned manually by the writer ing to the rules of DITA, which stipulate which tags can go where.

How to create a DITA map?

Create a ditamap Choose File New DITA . Alternatively, choose File New XML. By default, a ditamap is opened in the Resource Manager. You can use the available FrameMaker tools, such as the Structure View and Elements panel, to work with a ditamap. You can also include relationship tables to a ditamap.

What should DITA do?

Using DITA XML, you can create structured content once and then reuse it in multiple formats and contexts. This allows you to break down your content into smaller modules that can be reused in different ways. Modular content is easier to understand, update, and translate than unstructured content.

What is DITA and how it works?

Darwin information typing architecture (DITA) is an XML-based standard to create, edit, manage, and publish large volumes of documentation in multiple formats and languages. The DITA XML standards core principles make it stand out from the line of other content management solutions.

How do you implement Dita?

Go to Framework templates DITA Map map and select the type of map you want to create. Choose whether you want to open the map in the Editor or in the DITA Maps Manager. Usually, opening it in the DITA Maps Manager is the best choice.

How do you type strike out?

On a PC, use the following shortcut to strike through text: Select the text you want to strike through. Press Ctrl+D. A font dialog box will appear. Press Alt+K. The strikethrough feature should now be selected. Press OK. The text will now have a line through it.
