The custom field ID is used to link the custom field value to the custom field definition. The custom field ID is stored in the FieldID element in the XML representing both the custom field definition and the custom field value. The custom field value is stored inside the Value element.
So id is basically used to connect the input with a label. in your example will automatically connect to an input with the same id, it is also used to style the input. name is used in data storing or when submitting a data to a database, and value is anything the user types into the input.
Adding XML ids to your document manually Add an XML id within the p tags in your document. To do this insert your cursor between the p text and the right angle bracket and add an xml:id= attribute. Assign values to your XML ids. Finish adding XML ids to all of your p tags.
The UID element is a unique identifier. UID specifies the data record of any of its parent elements within one project. String(16): for Project Integer: for all other parent elements
The type xsd:ID is used for an attribute that uniquely identifies an element in an XML document. An xsd:ID value must be an NCName . This means that it must start with a letter or underscore, and can only contain letters, digits, underscores, hyphens, and periods.
Under XML 1.0, an ID is a unique identifier to aid in processing. You can annotate an element uniquely with an attribute of type ID, as in id=i-35867 (IDs cant start with a number), which often assumes an associated DTD containing the attribute-list declaration .
Inside the tag delimiters, start-tags consist of the element type name and perhaps element attributes; end-tags consist of a / (forward slash) followed by the element type name; and empty-tags begin with the element type name and end with a / (forward slash).
