PDR is the preferred choice for repairing hail damage A PDR technician will painstakingly comb the roof and hood of your vehicle, finding and fixing every dent. Due to the sheer number of dents to fix, fixing hail damage can take up to a week in work.
Using a heat gun, each dent can be warmed on a medium/low setting, then quickly treated with a very cold element, such as dry ice. The idea is that the heat will make the metal surface more pliable and the rapid cooling from the ice will cause the metal to contract, pushing the dent out of the car.
Body Dents The single most common type of damage after an accident is body damage, including dents and dings. No matter the cause of the collision or the speed at which it happened, having some kind of dent in your vehicle at the point of impact is virtually guaranteed.
If youre deadset on a DIY repair, and youre dealing with a small dent or two, you can try the hot and cold hack. The principle is to apply heat to the dent, followed by cold. The quick temperature swing will cause the metal to expand and then contract, which can pop the dent out.
Thats because sunlight warms the metal on your cars body. As the metal warms, it expands, and if youre fortunate, expanding metal may cause the dents to pop back out and disappear. Parking your vehicle for just one week in the hot sun may eliminate up to 90 percent of the dents caused by hail.
Use a plunger The quickest and often easiest dent removal method is to use a sink or cup plunger, which will work on small to medium sized dents (depending on the plunger size). Wet the plunger and the dent, place the plunger over the damaged area and begin pushing and pulling.
How to Patch Small Drywall Damage Fill dents and tiny holes with lightweight spackle using your finger or a putty knife. Make sure the spackle completely fills the dent or hole and is level with the rest of the undamaged wall. Allow the spackle to dry for 15 to 30 minutes or the time recommended by the manufacturer.
Yes your roof can be repaired with paintless dent repair. Our technicians usually need to drop the headliner and sunroof if applicable in order to gain access to the back side of the roof panel. From there the dents are carefully massaged out of the roof panel for a seamless repair keeping your factory paint intact.
