This video is about item alerts in WorldShare Circulation. Item alerts display as a pop-up window when an item is checked out or checked in. Since staff must acknowledge the alert in order to proceed with the transaction, item alerts are great for things like reminding staff to check for accompanying materials or to check that all three DVDs are in the case. Unlike other acknowledgements you may see in WorldShare Circulation, item alert acknowledgements never require an override. Usernames with any role can acknowledge item alerts. To create an item alert, staff with the appropriate role can add item details and enter a staff note with an exclamation mark or bang as a first character. Before I demonstrate how to create an item alert, lets see how they display when checking out and checking in. Ive already scanned a patrons library card. When I enter the barcode for this item, an item alert pops up. After Ive checked for the DVD, I click Acknowledge
