Creating a DITA Topic in Oxygen XML Editor Select File New or click the New button on the toolbar. Step Result: The New Document Wizard is displayed: Go to Framework templates DITA topic and select the type of topic that you want to create. Select a file path where it will be saved. Click Create.
The element lets you create any sequence of topics, and the ditabase document type lets you nest these topic types inside each other. The element has no particular output implications; it simply allows you to create multiple topics of different types at the same level in a single document.
How to Do a Line Break in HTML. To do a line break in HTML, use the tag. Simply place the tag wherever you want to force a line break.
There is no line break element or equivalent in DITA. Topic titles are used to form the heading in the output deliverable document, as well as for other constructs such as link text and metadata values. Writing accurate, concise and consistent topic titles is an important challenge for DITA authors.
DITA doesnt have an actual variables element, but you can use keyref to accomplish the same thing. A variable is a symbol that represents something else. You might use the variable productname so that if youre product name switches, you dont have to update all instances of the product name in your documentation.
Just a small hint have you ever been wondering, how to put newline characters into XML document? typical string with escape sequence like \n cant be used, because this string has no special meaning in XML. Instead of you need to use hexadecimal escaped character: #10; for newline or #13; for carriage return.
Write content in separate tags as this will result in a line break. Also try using \n or \r.
Using::after to insert a line break: The ::after pseudo-element can insert a line break after an elements content by setting content: \A.
