And Ahmed just posted a question in response to that video, where he wants to go the opposite way. So, if he would cross out a cell, like for example A1, then another cell, cell B1 would change the message to say: Target accomplished!. So, the question: is there any kind of a function that we can use, like =CROSSEDOUT or =ISCROSSEDOUT, to detect the formula in another cell? No, thereamp;#39;s not. And so I went back to Ahmed and I said: the only way weamp;#39;re going to be able to do this, is with some VBA. And even then itamp;#39;s not going to be perfect. He says: hey, VBA is fine, Iamp;#3

The steps for Strikethrough using the Excel shortcut key are as follows: First, select the cells in which we need the Strikethrough format. Now, use the Excel Strikethrough shortcut key, Ctrl+5. The data will strike out, as shown below.

Where is the font Strikethrough option? Click Open in Excel. Select the cells containing the data you want to format. Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. How do you overline in Excel? There is an underline and double underline button but no over line. If you REALLY need to do an overline you can cheat by putting dashes in the cell above your text and align them at the bottom of the cell. Or you can put a top border in your cell.
Select the cells containing the data you want to format. Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. In the Format Cells box, under Effects, click Strikethrough.
Press Ctrl+F9 (Windows) or Cmd+F9 (Mac) to insert field code brackets. Type EQ \x \to() between the field code brackets. Type the text you want overlined between the parentheses in the above formula. Press Shift+F9 with your cursor still between the brackets to apply the field code.
With the text or cell selected, click on the Format menu in the menu bar. Hover over Text and then click on Strikethrough. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Shift + 5 (Cmd + Shift + X on Mac).
Select the cells that have the text you want aligned. To horizontally align text, pick Align Text Left , Center , or Align Text Right .
