You can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + 5 to strikethrough Excel for Windows; on a Mac, press CMD + Shift + X. To add strikethrough to part of a cell, double-click the cell and select just the text you want to strike through.
Method 4: Conditional Formatting Select the cells with your tasks where you want to apply conditional strikethrough. Go to the Home tab on the Ribbon. Click on Conditional Formatting in the Styles group. Choose New Rule from the dropdown menu.
Hover over Text and then click on Strikethrough. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt + Shift + 5 (Cmd + Shift + X on Mac). To remove strikethrough, simply select the cell or text again and repeat the same process: Format Text Strikethrough, or use the keyboard shortcut.
