Using a lower LPI does make the dots coarser and more obvious. The finest line screen that we usually process is 133 LPI, although we would even question the use of 133 LPI, except on coated or hard papers. If youd like a halftone for your image, dont adjust or apply an LPI in your file.
A Line Screen is the measure of how many halftone lines are printed in a linear inch. The value is expressed as Lines Per Inch (LPI). This important measurement related to the way printers reproduce photographic images also defines the necessary resolution of an image.
LPI stands for lines per inch and is used in commercial offset printing. Coated papers are printed using a 200 or 175 line screen or LPI, while uncoated papers use a more coarse line screen of 150.
Lines per inch (LPI) is a measurement of printing resolution. A line consists of halftones that is built up by physical ink dots made by the printer device to create different tones. Specifically LPI is a measure of how close together the lines in a halftone grid are.
DPI Dots Per Inch the resolution of a printed image, how many tiny dots of ink printed per inch. The more dots, the finer the print. LPI Lines Per Inch refers to the lines of in a halftone or screen - the higher the number, the smaller the screen. These dots are not the same as those defined by in DPI.
Stands for Lines Per Inch. LPI is used to measure the resolution of images printed in halftones. Because halftone images are printed as a series of dots, the higher the LPI number, the more dense the dots can be, resulting in a finer resolution.
