Hello everyone, welcome to my channel in this video Iamp;#39;m going to be talking about index lifecycle management or ILM with Logstash. Index lifecycle management is the uh the mechanism that rolls over um the indexes at a specific age or size or a document count for example and you set up policy and you tell it how how long or how big the index gets before it rolls over to a new index and those indexes travel through the the data tiers odd to warm to cold to deletion if you use beats the index lifecycle management is set up by default and you can edit that but if youamp;#39;re using log stash if youamp;#39;re adjusting data from your any Source through log stash youamp;#39;re doing some filtering and parsing and then sending it that to Elasticsearch you will need to have to set up ILM manually so that the indexes can travel through the data tiers and get deleted so they donamp;#39;t stay forever I will show you here my setup uh this is what I have
