hello everyone and thanks for joining school the american rifle wanted to showcase a problem barrel that has crossed my bench this is a 18 inch cold hammer forged mid-length barrel it is marked as a wild barrel but it fails the throat gauges for wild and for five five six comes up short so i could ream this but other issues that it has is it has an almost non-existent crown i dont have the bore scope fired up with the laptop right now so i cant show it on video but there is no crown when you view this via the borescope one of the most obvious issues though i wanted to point out was how deep they dimpled the barrel for the gas block set screws at the factory its too deep in my opinion if you put a reasonable amount of force with the set screws it can cause consistency issues on target but that is too deep for acceptable dimpling in my experience but overall this barrel has poor accuracy with 556 ammunition it shoots relatively good with 223 but there are several issues so before we d
