On the Home tab of the ribbon, select Conditional Formatting New Rule Select Use a formula to determine which cells to format. On the Font tab, tick the Strikethrough check box. Click OK, then click OK again.
With the items selected, now just go up to the toolbar and click on the Checklist button to apply the new formatting. You will now have a checkbox at the beginning of each item. If you click on a checkbox it will check the box and cross off the text for that item with strikethrough formatting.
You can also add checklists in Google Docs.Docs: Continue a numbered list On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Double-click the first number. At the top, click Format. Select List options. Click OK.
Once you make the selection, click the Format option in the toolbar at the top of the page. In the menu that appears, select or hover over the Text option. This selection leads to another menu where you can select the Strikethrough tool.

The first step is to open Google Docs, and Click the arrow next to Checklist. To get a Checklist without strikethrough text, Click the right side icon for Do not strikethrough text when. With the no strikethrough icon selected, Type to enter your checklist items, and Press Enter.
Enter all of the text you want to be items on your checklist into your Google Doc. Each item that will have a checkbox next to it should be on its own line. Once youve got all of the items you want to turn into a checklist in the document, select all of the items. In the toolbar, click the checklist icon.
