Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. Today let me show you how to properly use Header and Footer rows and columns in Mac Numbers. Join us and get exclusive content and course discounts. So when you create a new table in Numbers usually you get one that looks like this. You could see that you have these gray cells at the top and on the left. This is a Header Row. This is a Header Column. The cells there are a little bit different than the ones you see here in the body of the table. There are several different things that make the cells in the Header Rows and Columns different. Its important to understand this difference to get the most out of Numbers. For instance here we have a Table and I named it Class. I have a Header Row here and a Header Column. Now the contents of the Header Row seem pretty simple

[EDIT] To just maintain one footer: Make your footer as you would like it. While still editing the footer, use ctrl+A to select the whole text. Click on Header Footer Tools - Footer - Save selection to footer gallery Supply a name, gallery, etc. Save the footer to Normal. Click OK.
Fix page numbers starting over at 1 in body of document Put the cursor in the footer; DO NOT select the page number. Click Page Number and then Format Page Numbers. In the Format window, click Continue from previous section and then click OK.
How to Make Different Footers in Word for Any Page Click on the Insert menu. Click on Footer. Choose the footer style that you want to use. Click on Edit Footer to edit any of these. Create your first footer, and hit Esc to exit. Now move your cursor to the last page where you want this footer to appear.
Click or tap where you want to start a new page without the header or footer. Go to Layout Breaks Next Page to create a section break. Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and double-click on your footer. It should now read Footer -Section 2-. Click on Link to Previous in the ribbon. This button should be deselected to ensure that the footers are different in each section.
Change or delete a header or footer on a single page Double-click the first page header or footer area. Check Different First Page to see if its selected. If not: Select Different First Page. Add your new content into the header or footer. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.
If you open the document and press Ctrl-A, then Alt-P-S-P to open the Page Layout dialogue and choose the Layout tab and either of the Different odd and even or Different first page boxes is checked or shaded, thats probably part of your issue.

To indicate when the headers and footers are active, a blue dashed line appears on the edge of the margin and a small Header or Footer tab appears on the left side. In multi-page documents, headers and footers will appear on every page. This is particularly useful for information such as page numbering.
On the Layout tab, under View, click Page Layout. On the Layout tab, under Page Setup, click Header Footer. Choose from a list of standard headers or footers by going to the Header or Footer pop-up menu, and clicking the header or footer that you want.
