Standardization is useful when your data has varying scales and the algorithm you are using does make assumptions about your data having a Gaussian distribution, such as linear regression, logistic regression, and linear discriminant analysis.
The two most discussed scaling methods are Normalization and Standardization. Normalization typically means rescales the values into a range of [0,1]. Standardization typically means rescales data to have a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1 (unit variance).
Normalization is necessary to ensure that the table only contains data directly related to the primary key, each data field contains only one data element, and to remove redundant (duplicated and unnecessary) data.
The most common normalization is the z-transformation, where you subtract the mean and divide by the standard deviation of your variable. The result will have mean=0 and sd=1. For that, you dont need any package. Thats it.

Method 1: Implementation in pandas [Z-Score] In this method, we are going to standardize the first column of the data set using pandas built-in functions mean() and std() which will give the mean and standard deviations of the column data.
In R, you can use the scale() function to scale the values in a vector, matrix, or data frame. You will almost always receive meaningless results if you do not normalize the vectors or columns you are utilizing. Scale() is a built-in R function that centers and/or scales the columns of a numeric matrix by default.
In this method to normalize the data, the user simply needs to call the scale() function which is an inbuilt function, and pass the data which is needed to be scaled, and further this will be resulting in normalized data from range -1 to 1 in the R programming language.
In statistics, Standardization is the subtraction of the mean and then dividing by its standard deviation. In Algebra, Normalization is the process of dividing of a vector by its length and it transforms your data into a range between 0 and 1.
Normalize Data with Min-Max Scaling in R Another efficient way of Normalizing values is through the Min-Max Scaling method. With Min-Max Scaling, we scale the data values between a range of 0 to 1 only. Due to this, the effect of outliers on the data values suppresses to a certain extent.
