Pretty basic information. Just last name, first name, two columns of dates and two columns of numbers here. Now if I want to sort by a column its pretty simple to do. All I need to do is click anywhere in the table so the table is the one selected. Then if I move my cursor over the top here you could see for each column I have this little arrow here and if I click on it I get some quick actions. One of those quick actions is to Sort. As a matter of fact theres two of them. Sort Ascending and Sort Descending. So one thing I might want to do is sort by last name ascending and I can select that and it resorts the whole table now with la

Sort data Click the table, move the pointer over the bar at the top of the column, then click the arrow that appears. Choose a sorting option: Sort Ascending: Sorts the data in alphabetical order (A to Z) or by increasing numerical values.
In the Organize sidebar, click the Sort tab. Click the pop-up menu in the sidebar and choose Sort Entire Table or Sort Selected Rows. Click Add a Column. Choose a column to sort by, then click the pop-up menu in the rule and choose Ascending or Descending.
We can sort the numbers in ascending or descending order. Ascending order means to sort the numbers from smallest to greatest. Descending order means to sort the numbers from greatest to smallest.
Click the table, then click Sort Filter in the toolbar. Click Filter, click Add a Filter, then choose which column to filter by. Click the type of filter you want (Text, for example), then click a rule. Enter values for your rule.

You can sort columns of cells alphabetically and numerically. On your Android phone or tablet, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app. To select a column, tap a letter at the top. To open the menu, tap the top of the column again. Tap More . Scroll down and tap SORT A-Z or SORT Z-A. Your data will be sorted.
Descending order means the largest or last in the order will appear at the top of the list: For numbers or amounts, the sort is largest to smallest. Higher numbers or amounts will be at the top of the list. For letters/words, the sort is alphabetical from Z to A.
