hi Im Joe James and in this video Im going to show you how to sort a file line-by-line using Python so I created this file called bans dot txt which is just a list of different bands and theres one band on each line of the file were going to read in line by line were going to sort the bands and then were going to either print them to the screen or write them to another file in sorted order so lets take a look at our program here were going to start out in our Python program with a list called bands and thats just an empty list then the first thing were going to be like I said is read the bands in from the file were going to sort the bands and then were going to write the sorted bands to a file so file name equals bands text thats the name of our file and with open file name which is bands text as FN so this common Python lingo for reading in the file youll call with open file name as FN for line in FN in other words for each line do everything inside this for loop bands
