Hello, Im Chris Menard. Welcome to my Excel One Minute Video series. Todays Excel function is the SORT function. I have a list of employees, I made up from A1over into H. I want to do a sort, so Im going to do equal SORT. What do you want to sort? Im going to just pick the Last name through the Salary, just to keep this easy. The SORT function, there are your arguments. Notice theres four arguments, only the first one is required, so Im actually good right here. Lets see what we have. The SORT function is a dynamic array function. So I typed something in cell J2 and it filled in all the other data. Notice when I click another cell, if you look in my formula bar up in the top above column C, its greyed out until I clicked back in J2. Lets edit this and use a couple other arguments, comma, argument two is what sort index? I want to do this by Salary, which is the fifth column from what I have sorted. So 5, comma, how do you want to sort? Do you want to

Using Undo Command to Remove Sort in Excel: Usually, when working on some document you can simply press CTRL + Z to undo the last action you did. You can also use this command to un-sort data in Excel. Keep in mind this command is effective only when the file is not closed and you are still working on it.
On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Sort Filter, and then click Clear.
Currently the SORT function is only available in Microsoft 365 and Excel 2021. Excel 2019, Excel 2016 do not support dynamic array formulas, so the SORT function is not available in these versions.
To sort a range: Select the Data tab on the Ribbon, then click the Sort command. The Sort dialog box will appear. Choose the column you want to sort by.
Method 1 Undo Sort Using Control + Z to Undo Sort To use the shortcut, hold the control key and then press the Z key once. This is the keyboard shortcut to undo your last action, and when your last action was to sort your dataset, using the shortcut would undo the sort.
Ctrl + Z is the most commonly used method to undo your previous steps. This method is best used immediately after applying the sort command before closing your worksheet. Just press your keyboard keys Ctrl + Z after sorting out your data. This will help to return the document to the state that it was in.
Select the cell to which the arrow is pointing. On the Formulas tab, click Remove All Arrows in Formula Auditing group, and then click Remove Precedent Arrows.
Excel SORT Function Examples The formula, =SORT(B15:F23, 2, 1, FALSE) translates in English to: Sort the data in cells B15:F23, based on the second column, in ascending order, sorted by row.
