The Snipping Tool supports digital ink drawings and can automatically convert digital equations to LaTeX, MathML, AsciiMath, and more.
Snip is a tool for extracting text, and particularly math, from images and documents. This text/LaTeX can then be pasted into a document editing tool such as a LaTeX or Markdown editor. The goal of Snip is to save you time typing time-consuming LaTeX or data from tables.
Snipping Tool offers more ways to capture content on your screen - with this update you can now extract specific text content from an image to paste in another application or, you can easily protect your sensitive information with text redaction by using text actions on the post capture screen.
Use Snipping Tool to make changes or notes, then save, and share. Draw a free-form shape around an object. Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle. Select a window, such as a dialog box, that you want to capture.
Annotate with Text: In the Snipping Tool editor, click on the Pen icon, which is the third icon from the left in the toolbar. This will allow you to draw freehand on the snip. Select the text icon from the toolbar, which looks like an A. You can now click anywhere on the snip to add a text box.
Although the tools work best with a pen device, selecting the Touch Writing button enables you to use the Annotating tools with a mouse or touch. Select the Ballpoint Pen or Pencil to write or draw on the snip. Select either tool twice to open the color palette and select a different color or size.
