right lets look at representing images in binary specifically the type of image were looking at is a bitmap which is stored as an array of individual pixels a 2d array in practice and columns and rows of pixels and another type of image is a vector image but virtual process is quite different to this so we are going to in this video so as a pixel pixel is an individual picture elements where Peaks will come from picture element and theres no definitive definition really but its basically the smallest distinguishable feature of an image so monitors also and VD use like a visual display units is a technical term though divides into rows and columns of pixels so we a color will kind of take up a single pixel and we dont divide it any further and as you would have seen the size of an image or a monitor can be expressed with pixels in form width and height so width times height and this it can also be referred to as a resolution of an image so resolution really is all about detail and

A binary image is a monochromatic image that consists of pixels that can have one of exactly two colors, usually black and white. Binary images are also called bi-level or two-level. This means that each pixel is stored as a single biti.e., 0 or 1.
Bit depth refers to the amount of information your images carry. A standard JPEG image is an 8-bit image. An 8-bit image has exactly 256 levels of colors and tones which can be manipulated (or played with) in any photo editing software (including Photoshop).
In a number of applications, such as document analysis and some industrial machine vision tasks, binary images can be used as the input to algorithms that perform useful tasks.
How to encode an image in binary? Read each pixel and if it is dark, convert it to 0 , and if it is clear, convert it to 1 (or invert 1 and 0 ). Some people see it as a form of binary art: the pixel art.
The main reason binary images are particularly useful in the field of Image Processing is because they allow easy separation of an object from the background. The process of segmentation allows to label each pixel as background or object and assigns corresponding black and white colours.
Images typically describe bits in terms of bits-per-pixel (BPP). For example a grayscale image may have 8-BPP, meaning each pixel can have one of 256 values from 0 (black) to 255 (white).
The smallest 8-bit binary number (in the encoding most often used for representing colors) is 00000000, which represents zero, while the largest is 11111111, which represents 255.
Therefore, 255 in binary is 11111111.
In its simplest form, an image is a table of pixels each of which has 24 Bits of information.
Binary describes a numbering scheme in which there are only two possible values for each digit -- 0 or 1 -- and is the basis for all binary code used in computing systems. These systems use this code to understand operational instructions and user input and to present a relevant output to the user.
