hey a quick psa theres been some rumors going around that midwest snips as a company hasnt been doing so well particularly under some of the michigan employment restrictions that have been going on they might very well be having some issues behind the scenes so if you are considering supporting american companies these are very modestly priced tools i am by no means an expert in aviation or tin snips however i have used the right offset one before and ive definitely used the more traditional ones as well to give you an idea at menards right now you can get this set for 23. and this unit for 17 and theres also a 15 coupon if you can fit it in their brown bag making these very reasonably priced if you look at it from where a lot of other products are for usa made these really arent that expensive and i wouldnt be surprised if we do lose midwest two three years from now you know whis theyre moving things overseas malcolm theyre already at least double the price you know is milwauk

SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper)
There are two main types: straight-pattern and duckbill-pattern. Straight-pattern are best for straight cuts, but can handle gentle curves. Duckbill-pattern snips, also known as trojan-pattern snips, have blades that taper down from the pivot to the tip of the blades.
Use snips for cutting soft metal only. Hard or hardened metal should be cut with cutting tools designed for that purpose. Use ordinary hand pressure for cutting. If extra force is needed, use a larger tool.
Tin snips, also known as metal cutters, are specifically used to cut sheet metal into required shapes and sizes. They have a high cutting capability, with different models designed for particular gauge levels.

The three common types are straight-cut tin snips, offset tin snips, and vertical tin snips. Straight-cut tin snips have straight blades that are just slightly shorter than the length of scissor blades. However, the blades are much thicker and heavier than scissor blades to enable them to cut through sheet metal.
There are two different types of snips: tinner snips and compound action snips.
