We know that A host is connected to the Internet via a communication link. The boundary between the link and the host is called an interface. Typically, a host has only one interface. On the other hand, a router has two or more links, and thus two or more interfaces. Both host and router send and receive IP datagrams via these interfaces. It is possible only if the interfaces have their addresses. The addresses they have are called IP addresses. Thus, IP address is linked with the interface and not with the host and router. We know that the binary number system uses two symbols 0 and 1. If I write a sequence of 0s and 1s, for example, 00100101, we say, it is 8-bit in length. Similarly, the IPv4 address is 32-bit in length. 8-bit represents 1 byte. Therefore, IPv4 is 32 bit or 4 bytes in length. Each byte is written in the form of decimal numbers separated with dots. This notation of IPv4 address is called dotted-decimal notation. Now, a portion of this IP address is determined by the

NetScaler Gateway is configured with a default IP address of 192.168. 100.1 and subnet mask of 255.255. 0.0 for management access. The default IP address is used whenever a user-configured value for the system IP (NSIP) address is absent.
A: Mapped IP (MIP) is essentially a default (Subnet IP) SNIP. NetScaler looks in its routing table for the best route to the destination. If it finds one, it uses the SNIP associated with the route. If it does not then NetScaler uses the MIP, which usually has a route to the default gateway.
A subnet IP address (SNIP) is a NetScaler owned IP address that is used by the NetScaler to communicate with the servers. The NetScaler uses the subnet IP address as a source IP address to proxy client connections to servers.
SubNet IP (SNIP) A SNIP is the source IP address of a packet that is used by the NetScaler every time it wants to communicate with a server (or object). Servers also use the SubNet IP to respond to the NetScaler.
A subnet, or subnetwork, is a segmented piece of a larger network. More specifically, subnets are a logical partition of an Internet Protocol (IP) network broken into multiple, smaller network segments.
Source IP address is the IP packet field containing the IP address of the hardware it came from.
Subnet IP (SNIP) is used for server side connections and will be used to route traffic that is destined for the VIP. Virtual IP (VIP) is the address of a virtual server to which end users will connect and through which they will eventually be authenticated.
