To snip an image on a PC, press Ctrl + Shift + S or Windows Key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool. Draw a rectangle and select the table that contains the state abbreviations. Save the image on your computer. Open an Excel workbook and click the Data tab on the Ribbon.
To insert a slicer without a pivot table, first ensure your data is formatted as an Excel table. Click anywhere in your table and navigate to the Table Tools Design tab. Then, choose Insert Slicer from the Tools group. Select the checkboxes for the columns you wish to filter by and click OK.

Use a slicer to filter data Select Insert Slicer. Select the fields youd like to filter. Select OK and adjust your slicer preferences, such as Columns, under Options.
