Apply a generous amount of lubricant to the zipper and teeth. Keep the lubricant away from the fabric or surrounding material of the piece to avoid damage. In a slow, gentle and smooth motion, try to slide the zipper in both directions. If the zipper still wont budge, repeat this process.
How to Make a Zipper Slide Easier. If you find yourself at the losing end of a stuck zipper, docHub for a bar of soap. Rub the stuff over the teeth of the zipper, and gently tug to make it give way. If that doesnt work, move onto other types of lubricant, like pencil lead, glass cleaner, or petroleum jelly.

The second number, preceded by an actual number sign, tells you the width in millimeters of the chain. So a #3 zipper has a 3mm wide chain, and a #5 zipper has a 5mm wide chain. The #3 will be more flexible than the #5, but not as strong.
Dress Wont Zip On Side First, try turning the dress inside out and zipping it up from the other side. If that doesnt work, try using a zip-up garment bag to zip up the dress. If all else fails, you can take the dress to a tailor or seamstress to have them fix the zipper.
Misaligned Zipper Heres one way to fix this problem: Cut away three or four teeth from one side of the zipper at the very bottom. Move the slider down to the bottom and pull apart the two zipper halves to eliminate the wrinkle.
