The most popular sans-serif font is Arial, others include Calibri, Century Gothic, Helvetica, Lucida Sans, Tahoma and Verdana. A sans-serif font is easier to read, so it is best used for both title and body text on a slide so that the viewer can quickly read the point and return their attention to the speaker.
Some of the best fonts for presentations include Lato, Roboto, Bentham, Fira Sans, Montserrat, Open Sans, Dosis, Libre-Baskerville and more. This list will help you find the best font for your next presentation, regardless if youre using PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote or any other tool to create it.
For traditional computer monitors, a size of 12pt (=16px) for body is generally recommended for body text (depending on audience). Ensure that default fonts are no smaller than 9 pt (=12px). Smaller sizes may be illegible on some platforms.
You can find it in the Editing options under the Home tab. Clicking Replace Fonts brings up two dropdown menus, the first of which includes all the fonts used in your deck.
To create a new Font Theme in the current PowerPoint presentation: In Normal View or Slide Sorter View, click the Design tab in the Ribbon. In the Variants group, click the More down arrow. Select Fonts. Click Customize Fonts. Click the arrow below Heading font and select the font you want to use.
Use 12 point for body text. For most documents, body text should be around 12 points. Small fonts may be illegible for some audiences. Use 9 point for footnotes.
Use simple, sans serif fonts with adequate spacing between letters. Use at least an 18-point font size. Good Sans Serif font examples include: Calibri, Franklin Gothic Book, Lucida Sans and Segoe UI. Avoid compressed fonts, fonts with uneven line weights, fancy / script / display fonts and italic or underlined fonts.
Use recommended fonts such as: Times New Roman, Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, and Courier New. Select a font size no smaller than 12 point. Avoid the use of text shadow. Do not use color as the only means of conveying information.
