Select the table. After you select it, the Table Design and Layout tabs will appear. Next to Table Design, go to Layout Sort. In the dialog box, choose how youd like to sort the table.
PowerPoint cant sort tables, unfortunately. You might want to use Excel instead. Enter your data, let Excel do the sorting and formatting.
You can do this by going to View Slide Master then on the layout you want to use click Insert Placeholder and select table. Draw the table container in the correct position on the slide.
