Change the size of your slides Select the Design tab of the toolbar ribbon. Select Slide Size. near the far right end of the toolbar. Select Standard (4:3 aspect ratio) or Widescreen (16:9) or Custom Slide Size.
The 16:9 widescreen setting is the default value for new presentations you create. When you change the slide size for a presentation, the size you choose only applies to that presentation. You can also change the orientation of all the slides in your presentation.
This presentation rules suggests that you should include no more than six words per line and no more than six bullet points per slide. The goal of this rule is to prevent your slides from becoming so dense and text heavy that people dont want to look at it.
16:9. Commonly known as widescreen, 16:9 is used for highly visual content and should be your default choice of size for creating presentations. This is because almost all modern projector screens, televisions, and computers display come in widescreen as a 16:9 layout.
The 16:9 aspect ratio is the most commonly recommended for PowerPoint slides. Using the 16:9 aspect ratio provides a widescreen format that is compatible with modern devices and projectors. Consider your audience and their devices when choosing the ideal aspect ratio for your presentation.
Change the size of your slides On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides. Click File. Page setup. To pick a size, click the Down arrow . Standard (4:3) Widescreen (16:9) Widescreen (16:10) Custom: Below Custom, enter a size and pick a unit of measurement (inches, centimeters, points, or pixels). Click OK.
Default PowerPoint is NOT HD. So we know that the default dimension of a presentation is 1280 x 720, and that your HD television is capable of displaying 1920 x 1080. You see already a problem with default PowerPoint presentations. Default PowerPoint presentations are not in HD; they are of lower quality.
If you work extensively with iPads and presentations in the field then 4:3 is the format for you. In most cases, however, 16:9 remains the aspect ratio of choice for PowerPoint presentations.
