welcome back slide roll fans uh another day another slide Roll video I couldnt help myself and uh apparently you couldnt help but watch it this will be a quick tour of a slightly fancier slide roll this is a pretty common slide rule the kne4181-1 this is also five inches like the one we were using uh just makes it easy for the video there is a 10 inch version of this called the 4181-3 this is a plastic rule with metal and braces its a duplex rule which means it has full complemental scales on both sides and sir which reads on both sides um no there is also a version of this rule which is Celluloid over wood I think its mahogany and you will see the Celluloid over water bamboo on a lot of slide rolls from the 50s and 60s um so the first Advanced feature this slide rule has that wasnt on our basic role are these folded scales these are the CIF the CF and the DF scales um let me show you what they can be used for so say I want to do our classic off scale calculation which was 4 times
