there are two holders that come with the scanner one is for medium format film and the other is for 35 millimeter slides in 35 millimeter film theres a seat on the side of the holder and theres a seat on the side of the scanner place them on top of one another and then remove the document mat from the top of the scanner now youre ready to place your slides in the holder then close the lid and start scanning the next step after placing your slides in the scanner is to go back to the scanning software and change your document type from photograph to positive film and then click preview then I have a preview of my slides you have the rotation button here so where you can flip the slides over if you put them in there upside down and then theres a mirroring button that reverses the slide sometimes youll notice that the writing in it is backwards and it needs to be flipped around if you dont do this this stage you can actually do that in Photoshop or later once again take a look down
