After checking the roof and water heater, it's important to prepare the slide-outs, which may have been exposed to cold weather and dirt. To protect the slide-out seals, a UV protectant is recommended. Users should utilize an A-frame ladder to properly apply the protectant when the slides are fully extended. Two types of protectants are suggested: dry silicone or a dry PTFE product, which is a generic form of Teflon. It's emphasized that the chosen product should remain dry during application.
