When using the theme template the first slide to appear in Normal view is called the Title Slide. The title slide is the slide that is used to introduce the presentation to the audience.
Click Home, click the arrow next to either the Bullets or Numbering button, and then click Bullets and Numbering. Tip: To quickly change the style of a bulleted or numbered list, just click the style you want in the list that appears when you click the arrow next to Bullets or Numbering.
Add page numbers to slides and notes On the Insert tab, click Header Footer . In the Header and Footer box, on the Slide tab, select the Slide number check box, and then in the Starts at box, type the page number that you want to start with on the first slide. Click Apply to All.
Re-position the slide numbers On the View tab, select Slide Master. At the top of the thumbnail pane, select the Slide Master thumbnail. In the Slide pane, select and hold the page number placeholder until you see the four-headed arrow, and drag it to a new location. When youre finished, select Close Master View.
In PowerPoint, slides are numbered by default from 1 but thats not always what you need. For example, youre working on some slides which are just part of a set of slides eg. working on slides from number 15 to 20 separately.
The first slide should have the title of the presentation and the full name. It will be displayed until the presentation starts and allows the audience to prepare itself for your talk.
Change the number that appears on the first slide On the Design tab, in the Customize group, click Slide Size, and then click Custom Slide Size. In the Slide Size dialog box, in the Number slides from box, enter the number that you want to show on the first slide in your presentation, and then click OK.
