For entries that span multiple lines, avoid using the Enter key after the line number. Select the entire area you want indented, drag the cursor up to the ruler, and move the triangle and line half an inch to the right for proper formatting.

Type Shift + ' to add a double quote, which Google Docs defaults to using Smart Quotes for. They're called Smart because they automatically identify if they should be formatted as start or end quotes.
