Show or widen the Outline or Slides tab When the pane that contains the Outline and Slides tabs is hidden or in a narrowed position, do the following to show or widen it: On the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Normal.
On the Home tab, click the arrow next to New Slide, and then click Outline.
Open PowerPoint, and select Home New Slide. Select Slides from Outline. In the Insert Outline dialog box, find and select your Word outline and select Insert. Note: If your Word document contains no Heading 1 or Heading 2 styles, PowerPoint will create a slide for each paragraph in your content.

View a presentation in Outline view On the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Normal. In the pane that contains the Outline and Slides tabs, click the Outline tab.

Click the Outline tab from the navigation panel to view and edit your slide shows outline. If you still dont see the Outline tab, hover your mouse over the vertical line on the left side of your screen, click the left mouse button and drag the line to the right until you see the Outline tab appear in the left pane.
The slides should be an outline, not a transcript. That is, your slides should give just the main points, and you can supply more detail verbally. Its fine to use the slides as a crutch to help you remember all the main points and the order in which you want to present them.
Normal View contains three panes: the outline pane, the slide pane, and the notes pane.
