And here in PowerPoint I have a deck and what I want to do is add page numbers to the upper right hand corner of the slide and have them automatically applied to all of the slides within this deck. And to do that first I need navigate to the slide master view of my deck. So on my keyboard Ill hit alt W M to flip over to the slide master view. Created by former Apple brand ambassador Guy Kawasaki, the 10-20-30 rule states that a PowerPoint presentation should have no more than 10 slides, never last longer than 20 minutes, and should use a minimum point size of 30 for the font.
The 10/20/30 rule of PowerPoint is a straightforward concept: no PowerPoint presentation should be more than ten slides, longer than 20 minutes, and use fonts smaller than 30 point size. Coined by Guy Kawasaki, the rule is a tool for marketers to create excellent PowerPoint presentations.
Add slide numbers or notes page numbers In the Header and Footer dialog box, do one of the following: If you want to add slide numbers, click the Slide tab, and then select the Slide number check box.
As a rule of thumb, consider: Estimate how much time do you require to present your slides in average and add 30 more seconds to the result. Then divide 30 minutes by the time spent on a single slide. The result will give you an idea about how many slides for 30 minutes.
Right click and select Master Layout. This will bring up a number of options, one of which drum roll please will be the option to add a slide number. Make sure this box is checked and it should bring up your slide numbers in all their collective glory!
Numbering your PowerPoint slides just makes basic sense; it adds structure to your presentations, makes them easier for your audience to follow, and allows you to refer back quickly to a particular slide. Additional information can also be useful, adding the finishing touch to your presentation.
If you add a footer to all of the slides including the title slide, you can add slide numbers to all of the slides except the title slide.
Keep it to one slide for every three minutes. Even presentation pros like Guy Kawasaki will advocate for the 10/20/30 rule (10 slides, 20 minutes, 30 point font).
Hands-down, the best advice for creating slides is Guy Kawasakis 10-20-30 rule of PowerPoint, which says you should have just 10 slides, your presentation should last no more than 20 minutes, and your font should be no less than 30 points.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Slide Number. In the Header and Footer dialog box, do one of the following: If you want to add slide numbers, click the Slide tab, and then select the Slide number check box.
