so what guides allow us to do is they allow us to lay out our images our text all the elements that we have in our document in a more organized manner that takes into account the dimensions of the document so what we first have to do is we have to enable the rulers on our document so to find the rulers what we do is we go to the option view at the top then we go to rulers and what we have to do is we just have to make sure this is ticked if its already ticked thats great you as you can see the shortcut for rulers is command r or itll be control r for windows so im just going to press on that and what you can see is now we have rulers at the top and at the side of our canvas area so what we can do with these rulers first of all its very handy because it allows us to measure the dimensions of our document and perhaps if you want to align things to the hundred mark you can see where about the hundred mark is as you can see at the top on the ruler itself theres a little slider that
