Show footer information on your slides Click INSERT > Header & Footer. On the Slide tab, check Footer. In the box below Footer, type the text that you want, such as the presentation title.
If you want to change the position of the header or footer, move the placeholder text box on the Master Slide (see the Master Slide tab for more information). Notice that by default, you are editing the header and footer for the slide that will display during your presentation.
When we talk about headers and footers in a presentation, we mean the small details near the top or bottom of your slides. These include the slide number, a text footer, and the date. Headers and footers appear in various positions, depending on the theme and the slide layout.
Footnotes are notes or annotations placed at the bottom of a slide or document, used to reference parts of the main text (generally using superscript numbers). For example, footnotes can be used to acknowledge a source reference material or author.
On the View tab, select Slide Master. In Slide Master view, the layout for your slide appears in the main pane. On the Slide Master tab, in the Master Layout group, select the Footers box: In the main pane, immediately you should be able to see the footer placeholders on the slide layout.
Recheck the Slide Master to make sure there is a footer placeholder on it. If it's missing, click on Slide Master>Footers to make it reappear. Check each Slide Layout to make sure each one has a footer placeholder. For any Layout missing the Footer, click on Slide Master>Footers even if it's already checked.
The footers that appear on the slide master are the text footer and date. (The date shows on the slide master, even though I have chosen not to show it on the slides.) First, let's press Ctrl and click to select both footer placeholders. Then, we'll click HOME, Font Color, and change the font color to dark blue.
Solution: If you can't directly edit footer text, it's probably the case that the footer placeholder has been turned off in Slide Master view. To change that situation, you can open Slide Master view and make changes there, as described below. On the View tab, select Slide Master.
