The audience will be able to digest and retain key points more easily. Dont use your slides as speakers notes or to simply project an outline of your presentation.
Much like you use folders to organize your files, you can use sections to organize your slides into meaningful groups.
What Are Benefits of PowerPoint? Visual Impact. Making your presentation more interesting through the use of multimedia can help to improve the audiences focus. Collaboration. PowerPoint allows you to work with other people in a collaborative manner. Content Sharing. Flexibility.
To save the venture capital community from death-by-PowerPoint, he evangelized the 10/20/30 rule for presentations which states that a presentation should have ten slides, last no more than twenty minutes, and contain no font smaller than thirty points.
Just like a recipe, this rule will make your presentation better not only when youre creating it, but when youre presenting it as well. The 2/4/8 rule is as follows: About every 2 minutes, have a new slideno more than 4 bullets per slide, and no more than 8 words per bullet.
4x4 rule If you have to use bullets use them sparingly use one thought per line, no more than four words per line and no more than four bullets on a single slide. Typically do not write in complete sentences the shorter, more concise your message the better.
Follow the 5/5/5 rule Some experts suggest using the 5/5/5 rule: no more than five words per line of text, five lines of text per slide, or five text-heavy slides in a row.
Use 4:3 if your are creating multi-purpose content that is going to be shown across different platforms and to be printed as documentation. Use 16:9 if you are creating highly visual content that is only going to be shown on a screen for a keynote or a conference presentation.
