With the document open, click Add-ons and select Code Blocks from the menu. A new right sidebar will open (Figure A), where you can make use of the tool. Code Blocks is installed and ready to go. To use Code Blocks, write or paste your code in the document.
End users: To format and display code in a Doc, select Insert Building blocks Code blocks choose your programming language or search @ Code blocks choose your programming language.
Google says youll be able to access the feature by going to Insert Building Blocks Code Block and then selecting the relevant language. Youll also be able to type @project assets into your document to pull up the menu, similar to how youd summon the emoji picker.
With the document open, click Add-ons and select Code Blocks from the menu. A new right sidebar will open (Figure A), where you can make use of the tool. Code Blocks is installed and ready to go. To use Code Blocks, write or paste your code in the document.
Select JavaScript from the first drop-down menu. Then you can also select a theme from the Theme drop-down menu. Press the Format button to add the syntax highlighting to the code as shown below. Now the JavaScript text is much clearer with its markup tags highlighted.
GitHub is like your Google Docs, except you can create save your version of the code offline, before pushing it to be saved online. So, you have your text editor (Atom), version control system (Git) remote file storage system (GitHub).
If you have enabled Markdown for Google Docs, you can also insert a code block by typing ``` and pressing Enter.
