A draft deck must have at least 40 cards, usually with 16 to 17 lands and 23 to 24 nonland cards. While 40 is the minimum, you should aim to play 40 cards the vast majority of the time to make your deck perform more consistently.
Each deck should have at least 40 cards and should last an average length for a game (about 20 minutes). How to draft: First, players sit around a table in a semi-circle. Each player then opens a booster pack and picks a single card without showing the other players.
For a ratio on how many of each card type to include in a deck, youre looking at about 36 playables like creatures and spells to 24 lands. Of those 36 playables you should split it down the middle between creatures and spells.
noun. noun. a card that someone gets from the government, telling them that they have been selected to serve in the armed forces.
40 cards and 17 lands is the most time-tested Limited ratio in existence. Adding more spells or lands messes with your decks composition and can dilute your draws.
Whats the Right Draft Deck Ratio? Generally, 17 lands and 23 nonlands is the suggested land-spell ratio. Of course, more aggressive decks can run 16 lands, and slower decks may wish to go to 18 lands. Extreme edge cases may warrant going outside of these boundaries, but that is quite rare.
There generally is a standard ratio when it comes to the Land type, but not with other types. Most newer players will start out with a recommended 24 out of 60 cards being Lands (40%). However, this ratio is far from fixed.
