hi im phillip dunn an applications instructor for new horizons and im here with another tip for working efficiently with powerpoint so what a lot of people do in word is go slide by slide typing in each slide typing in the in the appropriate boxes which is good adding each one it just takes a long time if you have to stop typing click in each box and so on you have to keep going through each one of these and adding everything and that just takes a long time now you could type in the outline view but a nice way to do it is to write it in word and then the trick is to turn this simple list into a outline so theres a couple ways to do it but i think the easiest way is to use the built-in word styles everything thats going to be heading 1 is going to turn into a slide title for a slide anything thats heading 2 or smaller will be a bullet point on the slide im going to start by pressing ctrl a to select everything and just make everything heading 2 which would be all bullets but then

In Word, choose View | Toolbars | Customize, then switch to the Commands tab.. Under Categories, choose Insert. Near the bottom of the Commands list, youll find Address Book.
Select Slides from Outline. Find and select the Word document in the Insert Outline dialog box, and click Insert. A new slide will be created for each Heading 1 in you document.
To create slides from a Word document: Open a blank PowerPoint document. Go to the Home tab. Click New Slide Slides from Outline navigate to where the Word document is saved Insert.
Open the PPT file in PowerPoint and select File Export from the menu bar. Select Create Handouts. Select a page layout in the Send To Microsoft Word window. Select OK to export the slideshow into a Word file.
In Word, go to Insert Add from Files and select the PowerPoint file. Choose Insert Slide for each slide you want to add.
Ribbon is located on the top of the PowerPoint window just below the Title bar. It is made up of seven tabs; Home, Insert, Design, Animations, Slide Show, Review and View. Each tab is divided into groups of related commands that are displayed on the Ribbon.
Select the text, shape, or picture that you want to use as a hyperlink. Select Insert Hyperlink and select an option: Place in This Document - Link to a specific slide in your presentation.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click the arrow next to Object, and then select Object. Click the Create from File tab, and browse to the location of your presentation. Select Link to file or Display as icon, and then click OK.
