yeah hi quick video on Stamp Duty Land Tax why well theres been some changes and we need to know about those and maybe get covered on a few areas think about stamp duty as we know of course because of course the syllabus calls it Stamp Duty Land Tax because effectively of course Stamp Duty is is payable on shares as well and shares and equities has always been and a half percent not 0.5% on the transaction and thats not changing at all that staying as it is but were talking about property stamp duty here and the figures so hows it changed well it changed because this this big slab tax as it was once called was a bit unfair because when you went over a certain amount it actually increased the stamp duty on the whole purchase so you had the property market was skewed because you had very few properties up to one to fight that kind of thing its changed and what sort of this slide one and the government record overall its cheaper dont know if thats the case but that they reckon it

United States government agencies; Florida government agencies; and Floridas counties, municipalities, and political subdivisions are exempt from documentary stamp tax. Certain documents are exempt from documentary stamp tax by state or federal law.
Documentary stamp tax is payable by any of the parties to a taxable transaction. If one party is exempt, the tax is required of the nonexempt party. United States government agencies; Florida government agencies; and Floridas counties, municipalities, and political subdivisions are exempt from documentary stamp tax.
The rate of tax is 35 cents per $100 or portion thereof of the amount secured thereby. There is no cap on the amount of tax due. All parties to the document are liable for the tax regardless of who agrees to pay the tax. If one party is exempt, the tax must be paid by a non-exempt party.
In Florida, no documentary stamp tax is owed on this type of transfer if (a) no money or other consideration is given in exchange for the property and (b) there is no mortgage on the property. Otherwise, the documentary stamp tax will apply to the unpaid balance of the mortgage or value given for the property.
These documents are, but not limited to Deed of Sale, Original Issuance of Stocks, Bank Checks, Debt Instrument, Birth Certificate, DTI Business Name Certificate, Lotto, Power of Attorney, Leases and Other Hiring Agreements.
The party responsible for payment of the documentary stamp tax on a sale is usually determined by the terms of the purchase agreement. However, because the seller is required to provide marketable title to the property, the seller usually pays these taxes.
In all Florida counties except Miami-Dade, the tax rate imposed on documents subject to tax is 70 cents on each $100 or portion thereof of the total consideration. Reference: Section 201.02(1)(a), Florida Statutes (F.S.)
is taxed at the rate of $2.25 for each $1,000 value or fraction thereof. This tax is known as the Documentary Stamp Tax and is based upon the value of the real property being transferred.
