So I talk about this in the books that I write, but, ya know, it really does make sense. Heres the deal. Your service agreement is not about service. It is not about the statement of work. The statement of work is important, and you staple it to the end of the service agreement. But before that, the service agreement is the big picture that defines your relationship with your client. It defines how often youre going to bill, whether youre going to bill in advance, what your rates are, which can be raised outside of the service contract, but you got to have a contract to make that happen. Agreements being the soul and heart of businesses, need to be enforceable by law. They will be enforceable by law if they satisfy the provisions mentioned under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 read with the Registration Act, 1908. Therefore, they should be duly stamped for being valid in the eyes of law.
People use document stamps to mark documents quickly with information relevant to their creation, distribution or storage. Information stamped on, or embedded in, a document can relay the time and date you created or received it.

In simpler words, only a stamped document can be admitted as evidence in court. The purpose of stamping a contract is to provide another layer of protection to the contracting parties, as upon stamping, the document is then admissible in the court in case of any dispute.
Buying, selling or leasing your property or creating deeds, require you to pay a stamp duty on property to states, since land is a state subject in India.
The short answer is; yes, you can generally use signature stamps as a legal authorizing mark. So long as your stamp is intentionally used and validated by you or an authorized representative you appoint, a signature stamp can serve as a legal form of signing.
The payment of proper stamp duty on a document creates its legality. Such document is admissible as evidence in a court of law. Documents that are not properly stamped, or are unstamped, are not admissible as evidence.
Other than the documents mentioned above, Karnataka Government levies stamp duty on: Affidavits. Mortgage certificates. Adoption letters. Will deed. Power of attorney. Settlement of moveable property. Settlement of immovable property. Bonds.
There is an important difference between applying stamps in a document and applying a signature. When applying a stamp to a document, you insert an image (your signature appearance) which modifies the content of your document without adding the protection a digital signature would do.
With respect to the case law, Ontario courts have found that signature stamps are an acceptable alternative to a written signature, at least on a will.
