For notaries, making flawless impressions with your stamp is essential. Start by placing the document on a firm, flat surface. Remove the cover from the stamp, ensuring the printing surface is flat against the document. Apply firm, even pressure to create a clear imprint of all letters, numbers, borders, and state seals. An unclear impression may be legally unacceptable; if this occurs, cross through it and reapply the stamp next to it. If there's no space for another stamp, cross out the notary wording and write "see attached certificate," then create a new certificate with an acceptable seal to attach to the document. Finally, replace the stamp cover to protect it.
