Attractive smiles have various things in common, such as teeth that are white, unstained, straight, evenly spaced with no gaps between them and not crowded or overlapping. When you smile, your top teeth show fully in a good proportion to your gums. The line where the gums and teeth meet is smooth and even.
A complex smile lives up to its name. Its the most complex smile style, and its also the most rare, found in only about 2% of people naturally. A complex smile combines the movements in both the other smile styles and adds to it a simultaneous lowering of the lower lip.
Muscular Basis of Smile They stated that a smile is formed in two stages. In the first stage, the levator muscles contract and raise the upper lip to nasolabial fold. In the second stage, the levator labii superioris, zygomaticus major, and buccinator muscles raise the lips even more superiorly.
Dental components of the smile include the size, shape, color, alignment, and crown angulation (tip) of the teeth; the midline; and arch symmetry. The dental midline is an important focal point in an esthetic smile.
BL1 will be considered as the super white while a BL4 will resemble four shades darker than BL1. In choosing the right color, many cosmetic dentists would recommend choosing one that is not more than two shades lighter than the whiteness of your existing teeth. This is to provide you with a more natural look.
Ideal smiles dont show more than two to three millimeters of gum tissue. Its all in the buccal corridor. The buccal corridor is the dark space between the corner of your lips and your upper back teeth. Broader smiles, or smaller buccal corridors, are considered to be the most attractive smiles.
