So before I waste too much of our time, letamp;#39;s go ahead and get into it. So todayamp;#39;s tip has to do with dot work or stippled style tattoos, which is a cool style. Itamp;#39;s an interesting kind of effect whenever itamp;#39;s done well and I had never done it much throughout my career. Uh, in fact, I had always thought that anyone who was doing dot work, where they were making individual dots with the machine on the skin, which you can do, and a lot of people, uh, have been doing that. The 4 shading techniques are blending, hatching, stippling, scumbling. There are also subcategories of each, including cross-hatching, contour hatching, pointillism. Each shading technique can be used in a variety of ways and they can be mixed with each other creatively.
The stipple technique refers to making all the line work and the shading out of a series of dots, rather than using lines. Stippling is commonly used in pen and ink drawings as well as in tattoo work.
Pointillism (/ˈpw̃tɪlɪzəm/, also US: /ˈpwɑːn-ˌ ˈpɔɪn-/) is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image.
Stippling is a drawing technique in which areas of light and shadow are created using nothing but dots. The basic idea is simple: For darker areas, you apply a greater number of dots and keep them close together.
The Color Dot Font is a font composed entirely of colored circles. In the font, each Latin character is replaced with a circle of a certain color. For example, an a character is represented by a blue circle, a t character by a yellow circle, and so forth.
Punto is not made up of grid-based dots. They are optical corrected and there is always the same distance between the dots, with the aim to create more harmonic letterforms. The dots also vary gradually in size to reflect the thickening and thinning of strokes, giving the letterforms a sophisticated overall look.
