all right so lets begin with our fourth lesson which is shading so what is shading shading is the process of using color maps projected on 3d objects in order to create physically accurate materials so in this tutorial well be covering the pbr workflow so what is pbr pbr stands for physically based rendering some of the maps include base color also referred to as albedo ambient occlusion metallicness roughness normal and displacement so here well be understanding the functions of specific maps and how textures affect the overall look of the material so lets begin so right here as you can see i have the basic loadout in blender now lets go to the shooting tab and lets start breaking down what we see right here so in the left side i can find the folder structure of my computer and by simply searching right here i can go to the folder where i have my materials right here in the center i have the viewport and already you can see that i have some basic lighting thats because if i cl

Shading model is used to compute the intensities and colors to display the surface. The shading model has two primary ingredients: properties of the surface and properties of the illumination falling on it. The principal surface property is its reflectance, which determines how much of the incident light is reflected.
A material is used to set the value of a parameter that is available from a shader, such as the color, numeric values, and so on. A shader is a small program that tells the GPU how to draw an object on the screen and the calculations needed to happen on the object.
A material defines the optical properties of an object: its color and whether it is dull or shiny. A texture is a pattern that breaks up the uniform appearance of the material.
The Shader Editor is used to edit materials which are used for rendering. Materials used by Cycles and Eevee are defined using a node tree. Therefore, the main window of the Shader editor is a node editor. A list of all shader nodes is available in the rendering section.
Shading is the Maya term for applying colors and textures, known in Maya as shaders. A shader defines an object's look—its color, tactile texture, transparency, luminescence, glow, and so forth.
Shading is referred to as the implementation of the illumination model at the pixel points or polygon surfaces of the graphics objects. Shading model is used to compute the intensities and colors to display the surface.
Shading is the darkening or colouring of a drawing with lines or blocks of colour, and is often used to create the illusion of depth or make an object three-dimensional.
Surface shading is a combination of the basic material of an object and any textures that are applied to it. because textures are often applied to shaders, the entire process of shading is sometimes informally referred to as texturing. Applying textures to shaders is also called texture mapping or simply mapping.
Flat Shading (per polygon) This is the most simple and efficient way to specify color for an object. It defines a single color for a face. Implementations of it may vary, but the main idea is that we use only one surface normal per polygon. The color itself is uniform (unchanging) on that polygon.
A shader is a piece of code that is executed on the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), usually found on a graphics card, to manipulate an image before it is drawn to the screen. Shaders allow for various kinds of rendering effect, ranging from adding an X-Ray view to adding cartoony outlines to rendering output.
