Hi, Im Ben Marriott. Im gonna show you how I made this animated grain effect from projects like these What is goon? Lets begin Im going to show you two methods that I used to create this animated grain look in my animations and were gonna do one on each of these eyeball characters. Lets get stuck into our first one. For this first character were going to use the easiest method which is using the dissolve blending mode and then a couple of effects to get the look we want Youll notice that Ive got a few layers shied here So you can see these are just the arms and the legs and some other rigging layers. We dont need to focus on them so Im gonna hide them. The only things we need to pay attention to at this eye main and iris layer which are the layers were gonna add the grain to The first thing were gonna do is duplicate this eye main layer and rename it to Eye Main Grain so we know what were working with. We should always label our layers and were gonna change its color to

the quality of something that can be decided by touch; the degree to which something is rough or smooth, or soft or hard: a smooth/rough/coarse texture.
Texture is the physical feel of something smooth, rough, fuzzy, slimy, and lots of textures something in between. Sandpaper is very rough it has a gritty, rough texture. Other things, like linoleum, have a smooth texture.
In a general sense, the word texture refers to surface characteristics and appearance of an object given by the size, shape, density, arrangement, proportion of its elementary parts [99]. A texture is usually described as smooth or rough, soft or hard, coarse of fine, matt or glossy, and etc.
There are basically two types of materials. Dielectrics (water, glass, mud, rock, wood, etc.) and Metals (iron, aluminum, gold, etc.).
3D texturing is the process of adding textures to a 3D object. This includes: creating textures (either from photos or from scratch), applying textures to 3D objects, lighting the scene and applying final details. To create your textures, you have three major techniques.

A 3D material is basically what you layer on top of a 3D object, to control the way the object is perceived when rendered. It behaves much the way a material does in the real world - whether thats the way light interacts with its surface, or the nuances of colour, texture, transparency and reflectivity.
Most common game releases have their textures inside a Media folder or similar. Inside that folder are also placed sounds, music, and other content, tipically into separate folders.
The process of texturing is rather easy: you start with a base layer that contains the properties of the material that you are trying to create and add different layers where you can change the color, roughness, metallic properties and much more until you achieve the required level of realism.
