Shading is referred to as the implementation of the illumination model at the pixel points or polygon surfaces of the graphics objects. Shading model is used to compute the intensities and colors to display the surface.
To apply textures to your model: In your scene viewport, select your model or geometry and right-click it. In the menu that appears, select Assign New Material. In the Assign New Material dialog box, go to Maya > Stingray PBS. This action assigns a PBR material to your model.
Right-click your object in the viewport and select Assign New Material. Select any of the available shaders from the editor that appears.

Shaders are small scripts that contain the mathematical calculations and algorithms for calculating the colour of each pixel rendered, based on the lighting input and the Material configuration. Textures are bitmap images.
Right-click your object in the viewport and select Assign New Material. Select any of the available shaders from the editor that appears.
Shading is used traditionally in drawing for depicting a range of darkness by applying media more densely or with a darker shade for darker areas, and less densely or with a lighter shade for lighter areas. Light patterns, such as objects having light and shaded areas, help when creating the illusion of depth on paper.
