If you do a lot of work in spreadsheets, you know that sometimes you want to put a lot of characters in a cell. That doesnt always work well because the cell is too small. Or, if you want to put a really long line of characters. Maybe a big sentence. It can even run off the page. Google Sheets isnt smart enough to word wrap it. I will just keep it like this. It looks ugly, its hard to read. It just doesnt work very well. The way that you would work around this if you were using Microsoft Excel would be that you would insert a text box.
