so one thing I wanted to show everybody how to do is to shade a particular line to call attention to it so letamp;#39;s say I have this big large heading for my flyer and I want to put a color behind it now most people what theyamp;#39;ll do is theyamp;#39;ll try to highlight it and theyamp;#39;ll go to the highlight button and theyamp;#39;ll try to highlight it that way and what that does is it creates color just behind the actual text so it looks a little bit cramped and it doesnamp;#39;t go the full width of the page so if this were to be smaller font oops Iamp;#39;m a bigger if this were a fault a smaller font and letamp;#39;s say a deeper highlight color itamp;#39;s going to look a little bit cramped and weird so in order to properly shade it what we need to do is get rid of that highlighting so highlight and choose no color and then with our cursor inside of that heading weamp;#39;ll go up to the fill bucket which is called the shading bucket but everybody calls it the

Select the shape or text box. On the Drawing Tools Format tab, click Shape Fill More Fill Colors. In the Colors box, either click the color you want on the Standard tab, or mix your own color on the Custom tab. Custom colors and colors on the Standard tab arent updated if you later change the document theme.
Use small, side-to-side movements with your pencil to shade your shape and go back over the areas which you would like to be darker. Vary the length of your pencil strokes so that they dont look too uniform and make sure that your lines are following the same direction to ensure that your shading looks even.
Open the Color list for Fill choose Fill Effects then click the Gradient button. Experiment with the options there. Most likely, though, youll need to create 2 shapes. Fill each as you prefer, then Align them or overlap them to get the appearance you want.
On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow next to Shading. Under Theme Colors, click the color that you want to use to shade your selection.
Apply shadows through object effects Select the object and click Add Effect Filters DropShadow in the Effects panel (Windows Effects).
Select the picture, AutoShape, WordArt, or text box that you want to change. On the Format tab, click Shadow Effects. To add a shadow, click the shadow style you want.
On the Drawing Tools Format tab, click Shape Effects Shadow, and then pick the shadow you want. When you rest your pointer on one of the shadow effects, it appears as a preview on the shape. Tip: To customize the shadow, click Shadow Options at the bottom of the shadow choices.
Apply shading to words or paragraphs Select the word or paragraph that you want to apply shading to. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow next to Shading. Under Theme Colors, click the color that you want to use to shade your selection.
