effective shading is a way to add layers of detail to our design work detail which is not always obvious from our construction lines sketching or annotation if shading can become a natural and instinctive part of our communication process we will find that we can produce design ideas with speed and detail and that our client will have a full understanding of our thoughts and intentions having quickly built a sketch with construction lines Im starting to use shading to add information to the shape youll notice that Im working quickly and whilst on attempting to shade up to and not over the boundary lines of the shape Im working within Im avoiding worrying about that too much if I start to worry about accuracy and neatness my ability to design suffers any tension brings with it a loss of fluidity and creativity so its really important to be relaxed when designing you can see that Im working diagonally and not shading parallel to any edges this simple rule keeps my surfaces distinc

Allusion blinds are probably the fastest growing trend in window shading, as theyre incredibly versatile, providing privacy, light control and soft, subtle elegance. Allusion blinds are most commonly used on patio doors and windows, as theyre a lot easier to manage than more traditional vertical blinds.
Here are some of the most common types of window shades: Cellular Shades. Roman Shades. Roller Shades. Solar Shades. Woven Wood Shades. Sheers and Shadings.
Draperies and Roman Shades Because theyre both soft window treatments, they play well together and give your room a cozy feel. For versatility, choose light filtering Roman Shades for daytime privacy and blackout curtains to block light at night.
Generally, the best practice for layered curtains is to place sheer, light-colored curtain panels on the inside rod closest to the window and heavier drapes, with privacy or blackout lining, on the outside rod. This pairing gives you the greatest amount of light and privacy control.
Cellular shades are available with three options: top down bottom up, cordless and motorized.
Curtains can generally be hung with either inside and outside mount blinds and shades. Hang the blind or shade first in the desired position if its not already part of the room scheme.
If you go with a light-colored shade, try complementing it with a dark drape. Or if your shade is solid, maybe choose a drape with a colorful pattern. With the Top-Down/Bottom-Up option on cellular shades, you can open your shades from the top down to let in natural light from above.
An ideal combination if youre opting for prints, is blinds in a single colour, paired with patterned curtains that feature the colour on the blind. If you love the natural texture of timber, a solid colour curtain to balance the look or create layers of texture by adding patterned drapes to contrast it.
