in this video were going to learn how to properly set up business letters using Microsoft Word before you begin typing the letter theres a few changes that youll want to make to your document the first thing were going to do is were going to change our top margin right now its set at 1 inch and we want to change that to 2 inches so to do that were going to go to page layout and were going to click on margins and since we only want to change one of the margins were going to come all the way down to the bottom and click on custom margins the only change we need to make here would be to change that top to a2 and you can just simply type that in its a lot faster than using the arrow keys to move that and then you can just simply press OK and notice that my cursor jumped down here so now I now have a two inch top margin the next change that we want to make is we want to go ahead and change our font style size and some spacing options so before you make any changes were going to s

Got questions?

Below are some common questions from our customers that may provide you with the answer you're looking for. If you can't find an answer to your question, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Introduction: The introductory paragraph of the letter introduces the purpose of the correspondence to the recipient. Body: The body paragraph or paragraphs provide details about the letters subject or purpose. Closing statement: The closing paragraph of the letter summarizes and concludes the message.
In the indent style the senders address, if not given in the letterhead, appears at the top right-hand corner with the date below it. The complimentary close and signature block are at the bottom right. The first line of each paragraph in the body of the letter is indented.
The most common layout of a business letter is known as block format. Using this format, the entire letter is left justified and single spaced except for a double space between paragraphs. Another widely utilized format is known as modified block format.
The seven parts of a business letter are: senders address, date, recipient address, salutation, body, closing salutation and signature. If you have documents attached with the letter, include a list of enclosures after the signature.
There are three main styles of business letter: block, modified block, and semi-block styles. Each is written in much the same way, including the same information, but the layout varies slightly for each one. Dear Name: In this type of modified block letter, all the paragraphs line up at the left margin.
Full Block Form When writing a letter using block form, no lines are indented. Include your name, address, and phone number where you can be contacted, as well as the date. You then include the name and address of the person you are sending the letter to. With new paragraphs, just skip a line instead of indenting.
As I learned in the fifth grade, the letter format has the date at the top, then the address, then the salutation (Dear sir), then the body and then the complimentary close (Yours truly), then the signature. Sometimes followed by a postscript.
